In 2003, I shot a number of short documentaries for a program called “Wednesdays at the Wall” for a Columbia University fellowship. Marcelo Toledo is a fascinating artist and his compositions are haunting. He completed a score called “Para el encuentro en los abismos,” (for 24 instruments) some 50+ sheets of music with unorthodox notation, orchestrating an unorthodox way of playing classical instruments. It premiered with the Ensemble Intercontemporaine.
